PHILIP C. JESSUP INTERNATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION

The School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens is looking for its new Jessup team!

The Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition is the oldest and largest public international law moot court competition, with more than 1000 participating universities all around the globe! This year, for the first time since 2019, the competition will be held in person in Washington, DC between 9 April 2023 and 15 April 2023.
The Jessup 2023 problem, scheduled to be released by mid-September 2022, will address the interpretation of a peace treaty, deadly attacks in allegedly occupied territory, unilateral economic sanctions, and the legal consequences of failing to dispose of hazardous waste properly.

The application deadline is Wednesday, 14 September 2022.
All interested students should send an email titled “Jessup 2023 – [your name and surname]” to  papastavridis[at]academyofathens[dot]gr;   nbourazelis[at]gmail[dot]com;  and  matina1ath[at]gmail[dot]com  consisting of the following:


1.    Their CV in English (as an attachment, preferably in pdf format)
2.    A 250-word maximum text explaining their motivation to participate (in a word document format)

 

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview on Thursday, 15 September 2022 [tbc]
