From the EUIPO Academy we would be very happy to invite you to attend the 20th edition of the INTA Industry Day which will take place on 18 October 2023 from 10:00 to 13:00 online via Zoom .

The EUIPO is hosting this annual event, organised with the International Trademark Association (INTA).

The topic ‘IP and Cannabis Industry’ will highlight the current issues and developments regarding IP protection that the industry faces.

Leading experts in the field will share their knowledge through presentations and discussions. 

• Shabnam Malek, Chief Legal Officer for 1906, an infused cannabis products and botanicals company based in San Francisco, United States. She oversees all things legal, compliance and government affairs.
• Jeppe Brogaard Clausen, EU specialist in IP law and Partner at NJORD Law Firm since 2015. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, he and his team advise well-known international firms across Scandinavia.
• Eric Maiers, Greenbert Traurig shareholder and Co-Chair of their IP practice in Chicago, United States. His practice spans both trade marks and patents, including prosecution and litigation.
• Chandimal Nicholas, Partner in the Intellectual Property and Regulatory Groups at Cassels Brock & Blackwell in Toronto, Canada. His IP includes advising clients on patent and trade mark issues, including strategy, prosecution and litigation.
